This is how democracy should function in Australia…


> Australian citizens living in the jurisdictions of the Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments should discuss with each other, such as via discussion forums on the internet, their views on policy, legislation and issues associated with the corresponding Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments, so that consensuses of majority opinion are formed by Australian citizens living in the jurisdictions of the Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments about policy, legislation and issues associated with the corresponding Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments.


> Elected representatives of the Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments, for whom there is no guarantee that they are honest, competent and capable, since they are elected as a result of political campaigning, should vote in the democratic forums of the Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments, being the Australian federal parliament, the Australian state and territorial parliaments and the Australian local councils, to accept or reject the consensuses of majority opinion formed by Australian citizens living in the jurisdictions of the corresponding Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments about policy, legislation and issues associated with the corresponding Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments.


> The Australian civil services of the Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments should formulate or modify policy and legislation for or associated with the Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments, on the basis of the outcomes of the elected representatives of the corresponding Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments voting in the democratic forums of the corresponding Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments, being the Australian federal parliament, the Australian state and territorial parliaments and the Australian local councils, to accept or reject the consensuses of majority opinion formed by Australian citizens living in the jurisdictions of the corresponding Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments about policy, legislation and issues associated with the corresponding Australian federal, state, territorial and local governments.
